We believe in the value of treatment for everyone and aim to offer an affordable pricing structure for all budgets. We accept cash, cheques and all major credit and debit cards for your convience. Our practitioners are registered with all major insurers, including BUPA, AXA PPP and HSA.

Changing an Appointment
If you need to change an appointment we appreciate the courtesy of 24 hours notice as we often have a waiting list of patients requiring urgent treatment. Failing to attend an appointment rescheduling or cancelling without 24 hours notice will incur a £15 charge.

If you happen to be running late we always appreciate a phone call as we can sometimes ‘juggle’ things at our end if other patients have arrived and are waiting to be seen.

Car Parking at Back Pain Centre Sunderland

Our clinic has a 6 space car park to the rear of the building. The car park can be accessed from St Thomas Street (which crosses John Street). Come along St Thomas Street. At the junction of St Thomas Street and John Street, you will see Jopling’s department store to your right. Cross the junction and turn left down the back lane of John Street. Our car park is clearly marked with our name. There’s an intercom on the rear entrance, please ring for entry.

Car Parking close to the clinic

Tavistock Place car park is only a few minutes walk from the clinic and has the ‘Sunderland Safer Parking Award’. It can be accessed from Toward road (A1018). On Toward road heading towards the city centre cross the first roundabout (second exit), carry onto the following roundabout and take your third exit onto Borough Road then take your third left into the car park.

By Bus

Our clinic has great bus links stopping at both John Street and the neighbouring Fawcett Street.

By Metro
The closest metro station is Sunderland Central (it also functions as a bus and taxi interchange). You can exit the station from two points Union Street and Fawcett Street. The Fawcett Street exit is closer to the clinic.

Directions from Fawcett Street exit: (2 minute walk)
Come out of the exit and turn right (you will see the Jessop’s store opposite) carry on down that road until you see Barclays bank and then take the first left, carry on over the crossing heading towards the Jopling’s store, turn right onto John Street (at Illusion Florists) you will see our sign approximately half way down the street.

By Rail
Sunderland Central – Athenaeum Street exit is the closest rail link to our clinic and is approximately three minutes walk.

Directions from Athenaeum Street exit:
Come out of the exit and turn left (passing the Wilkinsons store), cross the road, turn left just after you pass Lloyds bank this will bring you onto John Street and you will clearly see our clinic’s sign about half way up the street.
