Since becoming a professional Mix martial artist in 2007, I have found the treatments available at the Back Pain Centre Sunderland to be invaluable in terms of allowing me to train at a high level and pick up relatively few injuries and when I do get injured they are there to ensure I make a speedy recovery, with excellent ‘hands on’ treatment, advice and rehab exercises.

I have suffered from neck pain for many years as a result of my Cerebral palsy which forces me to over use certain parts of my body, especially my neck and shoulders. Through a chance meeting with Bronyia from the Back Pain Centre Sunderland I decided to take advantage of the Free Initial evaluation that they offer and made an appointment to come and see one of the practitioners.
I thought my initial evaluation would consist of a quick chat about my neck pain and how I could improve my posture. I couldn’t have been more wrong. After an in depth chat with the practitioner I was truly stunned at how many of the ailments I had could be related to my spine, for example, daily headaches which I just thought was something that everybody experienced after a busy day was actually linked to my neck problem.
I was amazed after my first series of spinal adjustments and massages, at how supple my muscles had become and how much more mobility I had in my neck. I am so grateful of the gains I have made, but I no longer take my health for granted, I keep up with my Spinal MOT’s to give me peace of mind that in doing so I am significantly reducing the chances of my problem returning.
Through attending sessions at the Back Pain Centre Sunderland I really feel like a happier and healthier person. I have recommended the practice to many of my friends and family. I can’t thank my practitioners Jason, Bronyia, Karen, Eileen and Kim for all their friendliness, kindness, and fantastic advice.
Thanks again!

I first competed for Great Britain as a power lifter in 1998. I suffered a serious lower back problem that put a premature end to my international power lifting career. After being sidelined with injury for 2 years I knew it was time to do something about it, I was recommended by a friend to go to the Back Pain Centre Sunderland.
After a few sessions of Osteopathy and Massage I felt no pain in my back, I stopped the pain killers and had the confidence to start training again. Slowly and surely my strength improved and I remained pain free and more supple than ever.
I was chosen to compete for the Great Britain power lifting team again in 2008, my first competition was the Western European cup in Denmark and I finished with a silver medal. I will definitely make sure to keep up my spinal maintenance treatments to help keep me competing at my best.
Cheers

Pregnancy can be hard on the body – especially the back! However, I know that the care I received with Jason and Bronyia played a considerable part in helping me manage my back pain.
During the early stages of my pregnancy I kept to my once monthly Spinal MOT’ and massages. In the final month my sessions became weekly. Special care was taken to ensure that my pelvis was well aligned.
Each session helped reduce any niggles and gave me confidence in my body, notably that it was ready and in the best possible shape for what was to come! (Plus lying on the pregnancy pillow – meant for a few brief minutes a week I could lie on my front – well worth the visit just for that!)
My treatment continued soon after Tom was born. Jason helped reduce my neck pain, which we think was linked to my position when breast feeding.
Sessions were each week for about 6 weeks after Tom’s birth, then once every two weeks and now I am back to once a month. I am convinced that the team’s care played a major role in my positive pregnancy, birth and recovery.
The clinic has amazing staff – you always get a warm and enthusiastic welcome either on the phone or in person. It is no surprise perhaps that I have recommended them to family and friends, many of whom are now to be found heading towards the clinic.
Yours in fantastic health
Penny

Shortly after retiring from teaching, I have had continuing problems with pain and stiffness in my neck. An x ray confirmed I have wear and tear in my neck. Physio – Chiropractor – Osteopath – I have tried them all.
Some worked in assisting a short term relief; however I would still frequently get a serious tightening of my neck. Thanks to a friend’s recommendation, I thought I would try a different solution with the ‘team approach’ at the Back Pain Centre Sunderland.
The clinic has a great friendly, welcoming atmosphere; I receive massage, osteopathy and rehabilitation. Quite simply the extra movement and mobility that the treatment afforded has enabled me to rotate my head on my bicycle and check for overtaking cars behind me, something I thought that I would no longer be able to do. Without any discomfort during the treatment or without changing my normal life style, they have helped restore mobility to my neck very effectively.
The fear of the shoulder and neck muscles locking up has been completely reduced, and I look forward to enjoying my exercise classes so much more now.
Thanks and Best wishes
Gillian

I have been coming to see Jason since I was a few months old. My birth was fairly standard, but shortly after I started to suffer with colic, it was really painful and frustrating so I would scream for ages.
I went a few times and Jason balanced my spine and the colic went away. He is very gentle and it didn’t hurt.
I always enjoy going – I get lots of smiles when I arrive and lots of cuddles. I will continue to go as I grow, because I am bound to need the occasional correction as I learn to crawl, walk and run!
Cheers
Ben
PS. Thanks to my mum Kelly for some help with my story!
